Now, we have given you the keys, but what do they mean for you? Let’s dive in!

Set Goals for Everyone

Setting goals is imperative for success. You need to know what you want out of every campaign, and your clients need to help develop these goals. While SMART goals may seem overrated, they are an ingenious way to set goals, especially for social media. It helps you create clear, actionable, and measurable goals (which are the best type of goals)

Stop posting for the sake of posting, post with purpose! Want more followers? Post for them! Want more likes? Post something spicy. When you have a goal, you can stop posting for the sake of posting, and post with purpose.

Here are some goals you can set, but feel free to get creative.

  1. Brand Awareness Increase
  2. Increased Engagement
  3. Increased Page Traffic
  4. Lead Generation
  5. Customer Aid Services
  6. Revenue Increases
  7. Increased Views, Likes, Interactions, Saves

So what are you waiting for? Get goal setting!

Proactive Preparations

It’s 10am on a Tuesday, and you have NOTHING to post. So you rely on stock images and quick quips. This isn’t authentic, unique, or original, so it’s time to start planning what you want to post. A reactive content strategy always fails.

Tight deadlines are crippling. Not only does it prevent you from being as creative as you would like, it also forces posts that might not be what your audience needs. There are so many scheduling apps which allow you to prepare in advance, so utilize these features.

It might be stressful to decide what you want to post a month from now, but in the future you will thank you for it.

Check and Balance Processes

It’s time to develop a check and balance process. Who approves the posts, who posts them, and when everything needs to get doen. By establishing a clear workflow, you can ensure that small mistakes don’t fall through the cracks.

This is also a time to establish expectations. When do you need to have things completed, what is the time of response, and what voice should everyone hold. Want success? Get more people involved!

Analyze the Insights

Social media provides you insights for a reason. They are meant to be utilized, and by understanding the reports, you can achieve your goals at a quicker pace. Insights are a critical key to success and are often overlooked.

There are two main things that you can secure from insights are WHAT to publish and WHEN to publish things.

What: To see what you need to post, see what kind of posts are getting great interactions, and how you can apply that to other content. Are yout TikToks getting a greater amount of likes? Well, how can you integrate TikTok more!

When: Most insight programs can show you when your users are active, when they engage, and what the best time is to post. It is important to know that this is not the same for everyone. Some businesses find success posting at 9am on a Tuesday, while others have success at 4pm on Fridays. Find your magic in between.

Interact, Interact, Interact

Stop expecting your audience to engage with your content if you don’t interact with them. Your audience needs to see you interact as well. Reply to comments, like peoples posts, share relevant information. We understand that this takes time out of your day, but if you set aside 30 minutes every day to engage, your users will thank you.

A simple “thank you for your interest” can go a long way, so get interacting!

Originality and Creativity

Duplicate content sucks. There is nothing worse than several people posting nearly identical content with similar hashtags and captions #boring! The future of social media is raw, honest, and from the heart. We want to know your story, not something you duplicated from someone else.

Your social media can be authentic when it comes from the heart, so bring in the honesty, break the barriers, and be yourself to the greatest extent possible.

Choose Your Social Media Champion

Why is spreading yourself thin admirable? Why does everyone think they need to be perfect at nearly everything? This is a frustrating thing to watch as we all get older. Everyone needs to win everything. This is unhealthy, but can also be detrimental to your social media marketing. It’s time to choose a social media champion, your winner! Time to pick your ‘Pokemon’ and win.

It would be phenomenal if you could find a way to be the trendsetter on every social media platform, but that isn’t realistic. You need to choose where your audience exists, and make content for them. The business professionals are on LinkedIn, and if that is your audience, LinkedIn needs to be your champion. The goal is to create the right content, for the right platform, for the right people.

Clever Hashtags

Stop using #smile and #photooftheday! These are overused words, and don’t curate an audience. Millions of people follow these hashtags, but they don’t really care. It’s time to stand out! High traffic hashtags create an illusion. You believe they will create interactions, and that’s true, but they don’t create meaningful interactions. You won’t get closer to your goals and you won’t get what you expect.

High traffic hashtags have high competition and it is easy to be washed out. There is a high turnover, and your post is likely to be seen by few. If you want to write interactions, find hashtags that apply to the target audience, and use those! No more #smile, and more #grinnigeartoear!

Social media is a place to learn, to grow, and to do better. Take the insights you found here, and apply them to your social media strategy. You don’t need to have a perfect feed, you just need a feed that satisfies your target audience, and draws in new people. Go get started, have fun, and get ready to learn!
